There was a time when women would retreat from the every-day world for a few days each month. This was usually during their moon time. During this sacred time of shared experience, the women would rest, meditate on their life, discuss issues and problems, and seek counsel from their elders. This wonderful tradition has had no place in our culture, and as a result we have missed out on much of the support, understanding, and wisdom that comes from such a gathering. Now is the time to recreate this sacred healing space for women.
With many women seeking out a special group of this nature, we are adding a second Gathering of Spirited Women meeting. The group is open to women of all ages, but may be initially most relevant to women of peri-menopausal age. We will gather to rest, discuss issues and problems of our lives as women, and hold one another in the loving flow of the feminine spirit.
Please join us on Wednesday, Oct. 5th from 6:30 - 8 pm for the viewing of the documentary "Things we don't talk about: Women's Stories from the Red Tent". There will also be two short presentations from members of the existing group about the wonderful friendships they've made by joining.
Women in attendance that wish to join the second group will decide the weekly meeting date and time. See you on Wednesday!
