Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain.

Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance. Western practitioners view the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. This stimulation boosts your body's natural painkillers and increases blood flow.

Hundreds of clinical studies on the benefits of acupuncture show that it successfully treats conditions ranging from musculoskeletal problems (back pain, neck pain, and others) to nausea, migraine headache, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and infertility.  Acupuncture has been an effective treatment for: Allergies, Depression, Facial pain (including craniomandibular disorders), Headaches, Hypertension, Knee pain, Low back pain, Morning sickness, Nausea and vomiting, Neck pain, Dental Pain (including TMJ), Postoperative pain, Rheumatoid arthritis, Sciatica, Sprains, and much more.
